2-day seminar on 'community policing' concludes at SKPA Udhampur

A two-day seminar on ‘community policing’ organised by SKPA Udhampur concluded today.

As many as 26 police officers nominated by PHQ participated in the seminar.

The course undertaken in the academy was aimed to sensitize the participating police officers about the community policing and police-public relations, a police handout said.

Earlier, the course was inaugurated on Monday by Rajiv Om Parkash Panday, IPS, SSP Udhampur. On the inaugural session Panday also planted a sapling in the academy.

During the course eminent speakers deliberated on different aspects of community policing.

Panday deliberated on community policing and the importance of police-public behaviour.

Mehesh Koul, MBA, PHD (Post Doctoral Fellow Indian Council of Philosophical research (ICPR), New Delhi) shared his knowledge and experience with the participating officers on the topics ‘police community relationship for better society’ and ‘responsibility of media in social engineering’.

Dr S D Singh Jamwal, IPS, IGP, Director SKPA Udhampur shared his knowledge and experience with the participating officers.
