2 dead, 11 injured in Langate road accident

Two passengers died and eleven others were injured after a vehicle they were on board, met with an accident at Langate Chowk in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Wednesday afternoon.

Sources said a mini passenger bus bearing registrationnumber JK09A 1220, which was on its way from Watergam to Handwara turned turtleat main Chowk Langate, resulting in the death of two passengers while 11 otherswere injured.

   

Theinjured were taken to sub-district hospital Langate from where six werereferred to district hospital Handwara for specialized treatment.

“One person was broughtdead, while six among the injured were referred to district hospital Handwarafor specialized treatment. However, one among the injured succumbed to hisinjuries there,” said Block Medical officer Langate Nazir Ahmad.

The deceased wereidentified as Mohammad Sultan, 40, son of Khazar Mohammad of Panditpora Langateand Sajad Lone, 40, son of Bashir Lone of Udipora Langate.
