Police on Sunday said it arrested two drug peddlers from this central Kashmir district and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
An official said apolice party from police station, Safapora laid a naka near Mansbal crossingand during checking of vetches arrested a drug peddler identified as RizwanAhmad Khan of Panjigam.
Thepolice party, led by Station House Officer Sajad Ahmed Khanday, recovered 48bottles of banned codeine phosphate from his possession.
“A case FIR No 04/2020) has been registered in this regard,”said the official.
In a separate case, the official said, acting on specificinformation that one person Jaffar Ahmad of Kaloosa area of Bandipora washeading for delivering consignment of drugs, was apprehended near Gulab SheikhCrossing in Safapora.
He said 448 Spasmo-Proxyon capsules were recovered from hispossession. A case (FIR No. 05/2020) has been registered and investigationtaken up.
