2 houses, 3 cowsheds gutted in Handwara blaze

At least two residential houses and three cowsheds were gutted in a fire incident in Krumhora village of this northern Kashmir town.

Locals said the fire broke out in a residential house of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Muhammad Sultan Sheikh of Bhat Mohalla, Krumhora, which soon engulfed the nearby structures.

Tehsildar Zachaldara, Muhammad Altaf said the fire broke out this evening, resulting in damage two houses and three cowsheds. “As of now, fire tenders are on the job to douse the flames,” he said.

Locals said had the fire tenders reached the spot on time the blaze could have been controlled much earlier.
