Two local labourers were rescued from a stream on the outskirts of Tral township in Pulwama district on Wednesday afternoon.
The labourers identified as GhulamRasoolGanaie (70) son in law of GhulamMohudinBhat and Ali Mohammad Bhat (65) son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, both residents of RathsunaTral fell into the gushing WatalAra stream near Rathsuna village of Tral.
As per a source, both were immediately rescued by the local residents and were moved to the hospital.
He said: “Both had fallen into the murky stream and remained in the water for few minutes before they were rescued.”
The condition of both is said to be stable.
Following the incessant rainfall in the valley the water level in the WatalAra here has considerably increased since Tuesday evening.
Many roads and streets in southern areas were waterlogged throughout the day.
