Police on Saturday said it arrested two militant associates at a checkpoint in Handawara area of Kupwara district.
An official identified the arrested persons as Nazir AhmedWani and Bashir Ahmed Wani – both residents of Sheikhpora Tarathpora, Vilgam.
“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including AKrifle, Chinese pistol, UBGL and huge cache of ammunition were recovered fromtheir possession,” said a statement.
It said a case (FIR No. 16/2020) was registered in policestation Kralgund and investigation in the matter was in progress.
