An eight-year-old girl and two-year-old boy died in two separate incidents here on Monday.
Anjum Ismael, daughter of Muhammad Ismael Mughal of Champora Villgam died when she was taking ride in homemade hammock. She lost her balance and her neck got stuck in hammock resulting in her on spot death due to strangulation.
Soon after the incident she was rushed to Public Health Centre (PHC) Vilgam where doctors declared her brought dead.
Station House Officer, Vilgam while confirming the incident said apparently it seems the girl died of the strangulation.
Police have registered a case (FIR No 174 CRPC) and taken up further investigation.
In another incident, the minor boy died after he accidently fell into a water tub in Shumriyal area of Lolab today.
A police official while confirming the incident said the child accidentally fell into a water tub at his home. The official identified the deceased as Owais Ahmad Majloo, son of Nissar Ahmad Majloo of Shumriyal.
Although the child was rushed to a nearby hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
