2 more Pulwama youth booked under PSA

“Police didn’t listen to me. I pleaded before them with folded hands. They have taken him to Jammu,” said Kahti, grandmother of Amir Shafi Bhat (18) of Kareemabad, Pulwama, in South Kashmir.

On Wednesday, Amir and another youth from the district werebooked under Public Safety Act and shifted to Kot Bhilwal jail in Jammu.

   

According to the family, itis the second time in three months that Amir has been booked under thecontroversial law which allows detention without trial.

“First they booked him in January and when court quashed theorder, they arrested him again,” said Muhammad Shafi, Amir’s father.

Police say Amir has beeninstigation youth to join protests.

In nearby Pinglena village, Mubashir Hakeem (28) has alsobeen booked under PSA and shifted to Jammu jail after remaining in policecustody in Pulwama for two months.

Hakeem is an MBA.
