2 OGWs arrested in Ganderbal: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two over ground workers of the militants in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

“Acting on specific information, Ganderbal police today conducted raid in Saloora Patti area of Ganderbal and arrested two OGWs besides incriminating material was recovered from their possession,” said an official.

   

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ganderbal Muhammad Khalil Poswal told Greater Kashmir that there was specific information after which a police party conducted search of two residential houses at Saloora Pati during which huge incriminating material was recovered.

“During the raid two OGWs identified as Irfan Ahmad Mir and Aushiq Hussain Baba were arrested,” the SSP said.  He said incriminating material including banners and flags of militant outfits was recovered from their possession.

“A case FIR 139/2018, U/S 13 ULAP and other relevant sections of the penal code has been registered and investigation is going on. Further arrests are expected in this case.”
