Two sisters were killed and two others injured when an ambulance turned turtle near Nipora Mir Bazaar area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.
An official said the ambulance, on way from Jammu to Srinagar (Registration No PB02/BY1387) was ferrying two COVID patients, Maryam Sheikh and Zareena Shiekh daughters of Ghulam Muhammad Shiekh of Sangra Bata Kishtwar when it met with the accdeint at Nipora stop.
The official said both the women died on the spot while the driver and another person, Arfan Khan, son of Muhammad Sadiq of Poonch were injured. Meanwhile police have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
