Police on Monday said it arrested three drug peddlers from Sumbal area of this northern Kashmir district and seized contraband substance from their possession.
Anofficial said on the directions of SSP Bandipora, Rahul Malik, a police teamled by SDPO Sumbal, Saqib Ghani and Inspector Muneeb ul Islam laid a naka atWangipora and arrested the drug peddlers.
An official said police recovered 101 bottles of contrabandsubstance (codeine phosphate) from their possession.
Theofficial said one among the arrested was a wanted drug peddler. The accusedhave been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat of Bazipora Ajas, Tanveer AhmadRather of Nesbal and Hilal Ahmad Wani of Wangipora.
The officials said a case has been registered in policestation Sumbal and investigation taken up.
