Police Sunday booked three drug peddlers under Public Safety Act (PSA) even as five more names have been recommended for action under the act in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources identified the drug peddlers as DawoodAhmed Kaloo son of Abdul Aziz Kaloo of Sofi Hamam Sopore, and Aijaz Ahmed Najazson of Ghulam Din Najar of Mumkak Sopore. The case against them has beenregistered in police station Sopore under FIR 135/2019.
Identifying the other drug peddler as Haroon Rashid Bhat sonof Abdul Ahad Baht, a resident of Chankhan area of the town, sources said caseagainst him stands registered at Police Station Amargrah.
Station House Officer Sopore, Azim Iqbal said the trio wasinvolved in many cases under NDPS Act. “They are also responsible for peddlingdrugs to young students in different areas of the Sopore town.”
