3 JeM members arrested in Rafiabad, Sopore: Police

One of the arrested JeM members has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, son of Abdul Rehman Kaloo, resident of Takiabal Sopore.

Three members of a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module were arrested in two separate incidents at Rafiabad and Sopore in Baramulla district on Monday, said Sopore police. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of arrested JeM members, the police said.

One of the arrested JeM members has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, son of Abdul Rehman Kaloo, resident of Takiabal Sopore. “Two grenades and matrix sheet of JeM outfit was recovered from his possession,” reads the press release issued by Sopore police. An FIR, vide no 65/2018 under section 7/25 A act, 13 ULA act has been registered in police station Tarzoo in connection with the case.

In another incident, two JeM members were arrested by Sopore police from Yarbugh Rafiabad on Monday. The arrested members have been identified as Asif Sheikh, son of Gh Qadir Sheikh and Abdul Majeed Mir, son of Gh Ahmad Mir, both resident of Yarbugh Rafiabad. A hand grenade, four rounds of AK47 and two matrix sheets of JeM outfit were seized from arrested persons. An FIR, vide no 92/2018, under section 7/25 A act, 13 ULA has been registered in police station Dangiwacha, Rafiabad.

All the arrests, as per the police press release, were carried out based on specific information received by police and security agencies. “Police along with army and CRPF personnel arrested all the three members after laying down Nakka at Haritar Sopore and Yarbugh Rafiabad,” reads the press release.
