Three minor students were injured in a canine attack in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after it entered inside school campus on Wednesday.
Officials said dog entered Government High School at Akhal village near Kangan during lunch time when students were busy playing in the campus and injured three students. The presence of canine created panic in the school with students running for their safety.
The injured students were rushed to the nearby Sub District Kangan Hospital.
An official of SDH Kangan said that students were discharged after first aid. “We administered anti rabies vaccine to them. The students have injuries in nose, legs and arms,” he said.
The injured students have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Lone (14) of class 7th, Sheikh Suhail Ahmad (8) of class 3rd and Masrat Jaaan (7) of 2nd class.
Headmaster of the school Nisar Ahmad Malik said school is without fencing due to which dog made it inside the campus.
Sub district magistrate Kangan Mehraj-ud-din Shah said construction of school fencing has already been taken up with the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal.
