30 ‘contacts’ of Srinagar case quarantined at Sopore

The authorities have identified and quarantined 30 persons who had come in contact with the Srinagar man who tested positive for Covid-19.

Amongthose identified include members of several families, who had met Srinagar manat Sopore.

   

“We have quarantined around 30 people so far who had met himin Sopore,” said Dr Rudyana, of sub district hospital Sopore.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Javed Iqbal saidthe Srinagar man who tested positive originally hails from Sopore.

“He arrived in Sopore onMarch 16 and left for Srinagar the next day. During his stay here, he metaround 30 people. They all have been identified quarantined” said the SSP.

The Srinagar man had recently returned from Delhi where hewas part of Tabligi Jammat which was attended by people from Indonesia andMalaysia.

The government spokespersonon Wednesday said four persons in Kashmir, who had participated in a religiousevent with the Srinagar patient had tested positive for Covid-19.
