333 persons quarantined in north Kashmir

At least 333 persons have been quarantined across north Kashmir, official data revealed.

The data shows that 244persons are under quarantine in Kupwara, 78 in Bandipora and 21 in Baramulla.

   

An official in Baramullasaid 21 persons who returned from outside countries, majorit of them fromBangladesh, have been kept in Isolation Ward at Government Medical College(GMC) Baramulla which has been declared as Isolation Centre.

“These persons had nosymptoms. However, since they have arrived from overseas they were kept inquarantine as preventive measures,” said Covid-19 nodal officer, Irshad Ahmad.The authorities have set up quarantine facility in 10 blocks of the district.

In Kupwara, the authoritieshave quarantined 244 persons including 184 persons who had arrived fromdifferent countries. The authorities in the district have designated sixcentres for quarantine.

In Bandipora, 78quarantined persons include 25 who have been put in hospital quarantine and 43in home quarantine. The authorities have designated 18 quarantine centres inthe district

Meanwhile, restrictionsremained in force for the second straight day across north Kashmir. InBaramulla town, police seized several vehicles for violating the restrictions.
