4 boys arrested while trying to cross LoC handed over to families

In an emotional reunion, four youth who were arrested while trying to cross Line of Control in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday were handed over to their families here on Saturday.

According to Army, four youth, two each from north and southKashmir were were apprehended in upper reaches of Limber.

   

“The young newly recruited boys were lured by some personsand influenced by false narrative to join militancy. On receiving specialinputs about their recruitment, a synergised and concerted effort was launchedto apprehend them. Since all of them were young boys, we exercised due cautionand they were apprehended in a village close to Line of Control in Uri sector”said Girish Kalia, Commander 79 Mount brigade at a press conference here tofelicitate their reunion with their respective families.

Without naming their handler, Commander Girish Kalia said:”We are looking for a 55 year old man who lured them and sent them to a guidewho was waiting near the Line of Control. However, bsefore they could reach theLoC, one of our team members apprehended them. The team found them dehydratedand exhausted. They were provided water and food and later taken into thecustody” said the csommander.

The boys were handed over to their respective families whowere present at the occasion. The boys were advised to shun the path ofviolence and concentrate on their studies.
