Sopore police arrested four notorious drug peddlers here on Thursday.
A police officer said that “on a reliable information regardingthe distribution and supply of drugs by peddlers among the youth, Police partyof Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHOPolice Station Tarzoo Bilal Khanday under the supervision of SDPO Sopore RajaMajid established a naka at National Highway near Choora and intercepted a TataSumo during search of the vehicle 1.5Kilograms of Charas was recovered andtwo peddlers were arrested, and vehicle was seized.”
The officer said that another naka was established atrailway crossing AmargrahSopore where officers intercepted a Maruti car and during searches recovered 1.5 Kilograms of Charas and two drug peddlerswere arrested.
He said, “the continuous efforts to eradicate the menace ofdrug peddling from Police District Sopore, under the guidelines and command ofSSP SoporeJavid Iqbal are on and J&K Police are committed to make thesociety drug addiction free.”
