Government forces on Wednesday night picked up four more youths during night raids in Vehil and Choudrigund villages of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official said that Anayat Ullah Malik son of MohammadSyed Malik, Tanveer Ahmad Wagay son of Gh. Hussain Wagay, Sajad Ahmad Khan sonof Abdul Hamid Khan, all residents of Vehil, and Muzafar Ahmad Mir son of Gh.Hassan Mir of Choudrigund village were detained during night raids.
The official said that all the detainees were lodged atpolice station Shopian. He, however, did not divulge the reason behind theirdetention.
On Wednesday five persons were picked up by forces fromVehil and Nowgam villages of the district.
The detentions were made after police arrested Owais HamidRather, a local resident of Vehil village near Jawahar Tunnel in connectionwith the Banihal blast. The family of Rather, however, had refuted theaccusations regarding the involvement of their son in the attack.
