A five-day course on ‘safety of women’ for investigators of J&K Police concluded at SK Police Academy Udhampur today.
The course was sponsored by Bureau of Police Research &Development (BPR&D) MHA, Government of India, New Delhi, a police handoutsaid.
“The objective of the course was to build the capacity ofthe investigators in the investigation of crime against women in professionaland scientific way by the use of Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit,” thestatement said.
As many as 25 officers drawn from different wings of J&KPolice attended the course.
On the valedictory function, Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, IPS, IGPDirector SK Police Academy Udhampur highlighted the importance of the courseand the necessity of capacity building for the investigators.During the course eminent professionals from thefield of Law, Forensics, Investigations and Medicines were invited.
