56-year-old teacher dies of ‘cardiac arrest’ in Bandipora

A 56-year-old teacher was declared dead due to “cardiac arrest” in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday.

The officials identified the man as Muhammad Ramzan Rather of Sheikh Mohalla locality of Ajas village. The deceased was working as a private school teacher in the same area and was respected among the student community who were shocked on hearing about his death, locals said.

   

According to the Block Medical Officer Hajin, DrAijaz Ahmad, the man was “brought dead” to the CHC Sumbal early Monday.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, DrArshid Ahmad who is posted at CHC Sumbal, said that the man was received in an “unconscious” state and after checking his vitals, showed no signs of life.

“We administered CPR and other procedure but he responded to nothing,” he said.

Dr Ahmad said the family or the attendants of the teacher did not share any medical history of the teacher that could have helped them determine the exact cause of his death.

He said the family told them that he felt unconscious at his home and was shifted to the hospital.

“We presume he died of cardiac arrest,” Dr Ahmad said.

The doctors said that the attendants told them that Ramzan had no medical history like hypertension and diabetes.
