Six policemen and two prisoners were injured when thevehicle they were traveling in met with an accident in Mattan area of southKashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.
The bus was carrying two accused prisoners from districtjail to a local court in neighboring Kulgam district for hearing.
“It, however, turned turtle near the mountains of Kehribalin Mattan,” a police official said.
Among the injured, the two prisoners Tawseef Ahmad ofTangdoo village and Rasik Ahmad of Such Kulgam were referred to districthospital Anantnag for specialized treatment.
The injured policemen were identified as Ghulam Mohdin(Police Station Yaripora), Mushtaq Ahmad (Police Station Yaripora), FarooqAhmad (Police Station Kulgam) Muhamad Shafeeq (DPL Kulgam), Farooq Ahmad(Police station Qazigund) and Masood Ahmad (DPL Kulgam).
