6 drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested six known drug peddlers from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.

Police said two among the six drug peddlers were apprehended while they were on way to sell contraband substance to the school children.

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Mohsin Yousuf Mir alias Munna son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, a resident of Delina, Danish Qazi son of Abdul Hamid Qazi, a resident of Boniyar, at present Delina, Mohammad Abbas Mir alias Wasil son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Delina and Sadam Hussain Khan son of Mohammad Hussain Khan, a resident of Kanispora.

The arrests were made after police party from Delina police post laid Naka in the Delina area of Baramulla and apprehended four drug peddlers along with the contraband substance.

“In another incident, a police party from police station Baramulla apprehended known drug peddlers namely Mohammad Rafiq Sofi son of Mohammad Subhan Sofi, a resident of Jalal Sahab Baramulla and Naveed Manzoor Najar @ Bob Nakvor son of Manzoor Ahmad Najar a resident of Iqbal Colony Baramulla and recovered huge quantity of brown sugar like substance from their possession who were on way to sell it to the school children,” a police spokesman said.

Police said that in this regard case FIR No. 113/2019 u/s 8/21-29 NDPS Act was registered in police station Baramulla and investigation has been taken up. “Huge quantity of brown sugar like substance around 209 grams and 297 items of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus Capsules were recovered from their possession,” police said.
