A 62-year-old man was killed when his vehicle met with an accident in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.
An official said that a car (bearing registration number JK06A-2531) on its way from Jodhpur village to Doda skidded off the road near Mohalla Bhata area, 15 km from Doda town, and fell into a 200-ft deep gorge.
The elderly man driving the vehicle, identified as Khushi Ram Rukwal (62), son of Nand Ram, resident of Jodhpur Doda, was rushed to District Hospital Doda where doctors declared him as brought dead, said DySP Hqrs Doda, Iftkhar Ahmed.
Police has registered a case vide FIR No-112 under section 279,304-A at Police Station Doda and further investigation is going on, he said.
