7 CRPF soldiers injured in grenade attack

Seven CRPF soldiers were injured when militants hurled a grenade towards a CPRF camp that is located yards away from Srinagar- Jammu highway at Jawbehra in Awantipora on Saturday evening. Four of the injured soldiers were shifted to PHC, Victor Force, Awantipora. The other three were referred to army base hospital in Srinagar. 

The injured were identified as Ratikant Malik, Oom Prakash, Brain Singh, RohitVerma, A Mohan Rao, JK Padh and RajuGagayee

   

After the explosion, government forces conducted searches in the area to apprehend the attackers.

MILITANTS ATTACK ARMY CAMP IN SOPORE

Meanwhile, militants on Saturday evening fired a rifle grenade towards a camp of 22-Rashtriya Rifle at SeeloSopore in Baramulla district, an official said.

He said that no one was injured in the attack. “The rifle grenade was followed by firing which continued for some time,” the official added.  

Senior superintendent of police Javid Iqbal told Greater Kashmir that the area has been cordoned off and searches have been launched to trace the attackers.
