Absentia funeral prayers held for slain Kangan youth

Funeral prayers in absentia were held for the slain youth in three different localities of Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday.

Gowhar Ahmad Rather (22) was critically injured in police action in Kangan on Monday. He passed away at SKIMS yesterday.

   

Locals assembled at Eidgah Kangan and offered funeral prayers in absentia for the slain youth. They raised pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans before dispersing off peacefully.

Prayers were also held at Kijpora and Preng localities.

Reports of minor clashes between police and youth were received from Sindh bridge Kangan. Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters.
