ACB books former manager CMS Tangmarg

Anti Corruption Bureau Baramulla has filed a case against former Manager, Cooperative Marketing Society (CMS) Tangmarg, Mansoor Ahmad Lone.

An ACB handout said the case, FIR 2/2019, under theprovisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, was filed on the basis of aninquiry conducted by SVC into a complaint against the accused.

   

“The inquiry revealed that (a) shopping complex has beenconstructed at Wahipora Tangmarg by evading all norms/procedures and the workshave been allotted to the contractors without approval from competentauthority,” the statement said.

“The enquiry revealed a huge amount of Rs 19.94 lakh onaccount of goodwill has been received by the then Manager Cooperative MarketingSociety Tangmarg from 13 persons. However, as per the records, Rs 12.85 lakhhas been paid to the sublet contractors till 03/08/2017 against theconstruction work,” the statement said.

The probe also revealed that records have not beenmaintained properly which seems to be a deliberate attempt on part of theaccused.

“Moreover, the inquiry revealed that while constructinganother shopping complex at Tangmarg, all norms, procedure have been flouted,”it said.

“Accordingly the aforementioned case has been registeredtoday in P/S ACB and investigation set into motion,” it said.
