A youth accused of kidnapping a girl escaped from police custody on Friday in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
An official said that Mohammad Saleem Dar (21) son ofMohammad Maqbool Dar, a resident of Anchar, Soura, Srinagar, was arrested in anFIR under section 363 RPC registered at police station Ganderbal on acomplaint.
“The accused was arrested in a kidnapping case day before.He was taken to the district court Ganderbal for remand, when he managed toescape,” Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Khalil Ahmed Poswaltold Greater Kashmir.
The SSP said that the police have launched a manhunt to nabthe accused.
