District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showket Aijaz Bhat on Friday said that administration was aiming to introduce introduce strawberry and grafted walnut plants across the district.
This he said while chairing a District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting to discuss and finalize the annual action plan under CSS-MIDH (Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture) in respect of Horticulture Sector for the year 2020-21.
Chief Horticulture Officer Kulgam Dr. M. Iqbal Baba informed the meeting about the previous achievements and future plans of the department.
Later after a threadbare discussion, the plan was approved by the DLCC to the tune of Rs 158.38 lac.
The DDC Kulgam also stressed upon the CHO for introduction of Strawberry and Grafted Walnut plants in the district. The meeting was attended by JD-Planning, CAHO, CSHO, CAO and other concerned officers.
