Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Wednesday said the recent transfers were a 'ploy to harm the basic charter of state cadre services.' Addressing party workers at Handwara, AIP president (AIP) and MLA Langate, Engineer Rasheed terme the recent reshuffle in the civil administration and police department, especially in Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS), Kashmir Police Services (KPS) and other state cadre services as 'a ploy to harm basic charter of KAS and KPS.'
"It is a conspiracy to change the dynamics of KAS, KPS and other state cadre services and strengthen Indian Administrative Services (IAS) so as to hurt the basic aspirations of the people of Kashmir. These harmful designs have been carried out since the time of Bakshi Ghulam Muhammad in early 1960s to curb the autonomous status of J&K and continue till date.
Of late, all these moves to scuttle the KAS are further being strengthened, so all the pro-Kashmir voices should fight this tooth and nail," Rasheed said.
"We need to remember history and logic that accession was done with Union of India on the promise that KAS would flourish and there would be no interference of IAS in J&K. The latest changes in administration by Governor reflect gross violation of these norms and when tomorrow a PDP-BJP government takes over they will have an excuse that Governor has already laid basis for all this," he added.
"New Delhi must stop this colonial attitude and not force Kashmiris to carry out resistance against constitutional misdeeds made from time to time," Rasheed said.
