Advisor Ganai reviews Eid arrangements

Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today directed the departments concerned to put all necessary arrangements in place to ensure that people celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr without facing any difficulty.

The meeting was attended by Divisional CommissionersKashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Divisional Commissioners Jammu, Sanjeev Verma andDivisional Commissioner Ladakh, Saugat Biswas, through Video Conferencing.

   

Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs,Pandurang Kondbarao Pole,  IGP TrafficJ&K, Alok Kumar, DIG Central Kashmir Range, VK Birdi, Deputy CommissionerSrinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SSP Srinagar, Haseeb Mughal, SP TrafficSrinagar, Tahir Gilani were also present in the meeting.

Besides, Chief Engineers R&B, PHE and PDD, CommissionerSrinagar Municipal Corporation, Chief Executive Officer, J&K Wakf Board andother officers of Health and Civil administration also attended the meeting.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir briefed the Advisorabout steps taken for Shab-i-Qadr, and Eid festival. He said that traffic routeplans, sanitation drives, availability of electricity, water and other basicamenities have been ensured.

Similarly the Divisional Commissioners Jammu and Ladakh alsoapprised the Advisor about arrangements made for Eid-ul-Fitr.

Stressing upon availability of essential commodities Ganaiurged Secretary FCS&CA and IG Traffic to coordinate so that truckload ofessential supplies reaches Valley to replenish the supplies of essentialcommodities before Eid.

He impressed upon the Deputy Commissioners of all threedivisions to make elaborate arrangements so that the people do not face anykind of inconvenience in their respective districts. Ganai asked them to makesanitation the hallmark on this religious festival.

The Advisor stressed upon carrying out cleanliness drivesaround all religious places where Eid prayers are to be offered. He askedMunicipal Commissioner to take extra measures for sanitation of places likeDargah Hazratbal, Eidgah and shrines in the city were large gatherings areexpected.
