Advisor Ganai reviews operationalisation of Cluster University Ladakh

Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai Tuesday took a detailed review of operationalisation of Cluster University Ladakh.

The Advisor suggested taking all measures for startingacademic activities in the University at earliest. The meeting was attended byVC Cluster University Ladakh, C Phunsog, Financial Commissioner Finance, ArunKumar Mehta, Secretary Higher Education Talet Parvez, Dean Academic AffairsUniversity of Kashmir Prof Akbar Masood and other officers.

   

The VC raised different requirements like recruitment ofstaff and expansion in infrastructure for operationalisation of the University.

He also mentioned different academic courses to be startedin the constituent colleges of the University. Phunsog also gave details offunctioning of the University, the offices of which would be established bothat Leh and Kargil.

The Secretary Higher Education provided details of budgetaryallocations to be made for the University to start its operations. He alsobriefed that statutes for the University are to be framed to start recruitingpeople for the University.

Mehta assured that requisite allocations of funds would bemade for making the University operational. He also nodded for makingprovisions to accommodate both short term and long term requirements of theUniversity.

The Advisor impressed upon the officers to take all themeasures for making the University operational. He said that it is the longpending demand of people there and should be met without any delay.

The constituent colleges of the University include one eachin Leh and Nobra (in Leh district) and one each in Kargil, Zanskar and Drass(in Kargil district).

Moreover it was given that the infrastructure of thesecolleges was to be expanded in addition to raising other structures foradministrative purposes thus making the varsity a flourishing one.
