Advisor Vyas directs timely supply of essentials to Ladakh region

Governor’s Advisor B B Vyas Wednesday convened a meeting to review the stock and supply position of essentials for Ladakh region, an official spokesman said.    

The meeting was attended by principal secretary Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Transport, Dr Asgar Samoon, commissioner secretary PDD Hirdesh Kumar, divisional commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, deputy commissioners of Leh and Kargil, and other senior officers of various departments.  

   

Chief Executive Councillors of Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh region participated in the meeting via video conferencing.  

On the occasion, Advisor directed officers to ensure the supply of essentials and other related items to Ladakh region is completed in all respects within the shortest possible time in view of ensuing winter months.

Dulloo informed that there is a sufficient stock of lifesaving drugs in Leh and Kargil Districts. He said that 80 per cent of medicines and machinery demanded for winter stock has reached Leh and Kargil and the remaining would be dispatched soon.

Commissioner secretary power informed the meeting that against the requirement of 45 electric transformers in Kargil, 38 have reached there and against the requirement of 4700 electric poles, 4100 have reached Kargil. Similarly, against the requirement of 10226 electric poles in Leh, 7800 have already been dispatched to the area. He said that the remaining will be dispatched soon.
