Aloha J&K to conduct 7th GAT exam on March 21

Aloha J&K is going to conduct its 7th GAT exam for students of 5th to 10th standard and is scheduled for March 21.

The GAT or the General Ability Test,according to the organizers, helps in testing the basic and important skills ofa student to crack competitive exams in future.

   

Aloha started this initiative in 2009.

“As we know the premier competitiveexaminations like IAS, JEE, GMAT, CAT, MAT, NEET, etc. not only test thecandidates’ ability in their core subject but test their overall awareness alsoin the field of general knowledge, general aptitude and logical reasoning, andcandidates from their early years toil hard to crack these examinations,” saidQasim Shah, who conducts GAT examination.

In 2017, about 2200 students from about 500schools across Kashmir participated in the examination. While in 2018, morethan 6000 students participated in 6th GAT exam.

GAT is a three-stage examination system’GAT Prelims’, ‘GAT Mains’, and the final stage is GAT personality test.”Candidates appearing in the first stage are supplied with ‘Knowledge Bank’after their registration for the examination. Knowledge Bank is basically aresource book which comprises of multiple choice questions based on varioussubjects and are prepared by our experts,” said Tariq Ahmad, one of theorganiser.

Talking about the stages, Tariq said,”InPrelims, we conduct an objective test with 120 questions, and which need to besolved in the duration of 90 minutes that is less than a minute for onequestion…and all these questions are from Knowledge Bank.  The second stage, GAT Mains, covers the threemain subjects Science, Mathematics, Social studies and English. It is thedescriptive stage, wherein creative, analytical and the research approach isduly encouraged. Syllabus for self-study is provided to the candidates in thisstage also.”

The final stage, Tariq said, is based onpersonality wherein the meritorious candidates interact with experts likeTechnocrats, Academicians and civil servants, who, besides polishing theirskills, strengthen these brilliant tender brains so that they contribute to thesociety.
