Amarnath Yatra: Advisor, DGP review security arrangements

RR Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt Governor, Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh Wednesday chaired a meeting of officers to review security scenario of Kashmir and discussed arrangements for upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

The meeting was held atPolice Control Room Kashmir and attended by IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar; IGP BSF,Rajesh Mishra; DIG CKR, Muhammad Suleman Choudhary; district SSPs of Srinagar,Budgam, Ganderbal Bandipora through video conference and DIG, south Kashmir,Atul Goel; SSP Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama and Awantipora.

   

Advisor Bhatnagarcomplimented police and security forces for an outstanding performance andadvised that the forces must continue with efforts to maintain peace and createfurther conducive environment for development.

Addressing the meeting, theDGP advised the officers that the plans should be worked out and fine tuned andput in action in such a way that required timelines as per Yatra schedule weremet well in time and adequate arrangements were provided for pilgrims.

The DGP said whateversupport in the shape of logistics and manpower was required will be placed attheir disposal for smooth conduct of the Yatra.

The officers were directedthat based on the past experience they should review and update their plans.They were directed to cater to accommodation and other basic amenities fortroops deployed on the ground.

The DGP urged that theofficers must start briefing and training of police and other forces regardingtheir role and to coordinate joint training of troops so that there was noconfusion.
