Anantnag, Bijbehara towns shut to mourn militants’ killing

Anantnag and Bijbehara towns in south Kashmir remained shut for the second straight day Friday in the wake of killing of two militants on Thursday.

Sources said all shops and other commercial establishmentsremained closed will the traffic was off the roads.

   

Heavy deployment of security forces had been made at thesensitive places in both the towns to thwart untoward incident. Therestrictions were also in place at few areas in Anantnag.

Two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants were killed in a gunfightwith the security forces in a pre-dawn gunfight in Bijbehara on Thursday.

The slain were identified as Safder Amin Bhat (25), son ofMuhammad Amin of Zirpora Bijbehara and Burhan Ahmad Ganaie (25) of MaliporaHablish Kulgam.’
