Additional Sessions Judge, Anantnag, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary Wednesday rejected a bail plea of an accused in a forgery case.
After hearing Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Ajaz AhmadWani and the defence counsel, the court said the accused does not deserveconcession of bail “at this stage.”
The court, while agreeing with the APP observed if theaccused was admitted to bail, the investigation will be hampered.
It said the possibility of repetition of offence by theaccused and winning of prosecution witnesses cannot be ruled out.
The court said gravity and heinousness of crime as committedin the case by the accused “is another hurdling factor in allowing the bailplea”.
As per prosecution, Bilal Ahmad Lone of Achabal Anantnagallegedly forged a court judgment and claimed it to have been passed byJudicial Magistrate Shangus.
