ANC files case against BJP leaders for remarks over ‘Gupkar Declaration’

Awami National Conference (ANC) on Monday said the party has filed a case against several BJP leaders for accusing the participants of the “Gupkar Declaration” as anti national. A statement the party filed the case against BJP J&K President, Ravinder Raina; national Vice President, Avinash Rai Khanna; national General Secretaries, Anil Jain and Murli Dhar Rao and Minister of State in PMO, Jitendra Singh.

“By making these life threatening and inflammatory speeches and allegations public through social media and press they have caused great concern and threat to the life and security of the participants of the Gupkar Deceleration with the intent to create communal hatred ,communal dis -harmony, between different sections of society,” said the statement.

   

“This act on part of the accused has the potential to seriously harm people of J&K by causing an atmosphere of terror and intimidation as to seriously harm people of J&K especially from Kashmir working and imparting education in institutions, business establishments, trade and commerce at the hands of the activists of various notorious  outfits of the BJP and RSS throughout the country,” the statement said.

Through the FIR, the statement said, the ANC has sought initiation of criminal proceedings against the accused persons for serious criminal onslaught on the participants of the “Gupkar Declaration in particular and people of J&K in general.
