The custodians of a religious seminary in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district have alleged army of ransacking its property in last night’s raid on Sunday. However, army has denied the allegations.

Reports said that at around 11:30 last night, soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles stationed at Sopore barged inside the Darul -Uloom Maharajpora and ransacked the property inside.

“They abused us and vandalized our institute,” said a cleric of the religious seminary, who wished not to be named for the fear of reprisal.

Meanwhile, an army spokesman in Srinagar has refuted the allegations, terming them as “baseless”.
