Army Goodwill School, Anantnag Highground, celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas with full enthusiasm.
All the students and staff of the school participated in theevent along with the soldiers of Army’s 1 RR battalion, an army handout said.
“Inspirational lectures were delivered by teachers as wellas senior students about history and importance of the day,” it said.
“There are many events being conducted from 25 July to 28July 2019 viz. Painting Competition, Essay, Debate and lectures highlightingethos or nationalism and sacrifices made by the Armed Forces for safeguardingthe nation against foreign aggression,” the statement said.
A short movie on Kargil War was also screened for thestudents which is followed by an interactive session.
Various students participated in painting competition inwhich Munaza Tabasum from 9th Class, Master Hazim Keen from 3rd class and MissSaraswati Kumari from 8th class were declared winners in different categoriesand were honoured for their performances.
On the occasion Commanding Officer, 1 RR Battalion gave abrief account of reasons to celebrate ‘Vijay Diwas’.
