Army on Tuesday said that it provided financial and material support to one Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, whose house was gutted in a fire incident near Hajin Army camp in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In statement here an Army spokesman said, “The house of the victim was completely gutted and severely damaged due to a gas cylinder explosion. Nazir is a daily wage earner and lives with his wife and two daughters (age 8 yrs and 6 yrs). On the day of the incident the Company Commander visited Nazir’s house and sympathised with the family. He was assured of all possible help from the Army camp. A few days later keeping the commitment given by the Company Commander, Nazir was provided with financial and material support to buy essential household items and assistance in regaining from the losses suffered by him.”
