Army hold interaction at Salamabad

Army on Monday said that it organised an interactive session with the members of  Bakarwaal and Gujjar community  at Bela Salamabad in north Kashmir.

 In a statement here an Army spokesman said that interaction was held to brief the members of both the communities before they migrate to the high altitude meadows for grazing and dwell there for summer months along with their livestock. “The discussion started off with security and medical arrangements done by the Army for the Bakarwaals and Gujjars while on seasonal migration and various means of communication for them so that they can get in touch with security forces in times of need.

   

Various other agendas of basic infrastructure, social facilities and education were also deliberated. Necessity of electricity in higher reaches was one of the main issues of discussion.  Seventy participants attended the session wherein registration of dhoks was also done. They were assured of Army’s continued efforts to extend its helping hand to one and all,” the spokesman added.
