Army on Tuesday said that it organised a recruitment rally for youth at Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a statement Army’sSrinagar based spokesman said that around 600 youth participated in therecruitment rally conducted by the Dawar battalion of the Snow Leopard Brigadeof Indian Army. The recruitment drive would continue till 27 Apr and approximately 1800 youth are likely to takepart in the rally.
The spokesman said that the recruitment is being conductedfor various tradesmen including porters, barbers, washermen, cooks. “Despite the inclement weather, high altitudeterrain, security situation and poor road connectivity, the youth turned up inlarge numbers from the day one itself. The youth were tested for medical andphysical fitness. The enthusiasm and spirit of the candidates clearly reflectstheir desire for personal progression while having faith in the government andthe Indian Army,” he added.
