Army holds dance, singing workshop for students

Army in coordination with Spic Macay organised a singing and Kathak dance workshop at Army Goodwill School Ziran on Sunday.

An army spokesman in a statement said, “Shalini Sharma, a renowned Kathak dancer, took a motivational class on the origins, importance and applications of Kathak dance in daily life for the students and later on, a basic training class was also taken.”

He said that Ronita Dey, the leading vocalist, enlightened the students on the necessity of music in the daily life and also taught them about the Raags, Swaras, voice regulation and breath control during signing. “The children whole-heartedly sang along with the instructor, trying to improve their skills of singing. The prime objective of this workshop was to enlighten the students as well as the teachers about the need of music, dance and arts as an important extra-curricular activity in the overall growth and development of the children,” he added.
