Army porter killed in cross-LoC firing

An army porter was killed in cross-LoC firing in Uri area of Baramulla district on Monday, police said.

Khursheed Ahmad (37), son of Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Nawa Runda, was killed after being hit by a bullet in his neck, an official said.

   

“He got a bullet injury in his neck besides some grenade splinters in both legs in Chaukas area near the Line of Control at around 10:40 am,” said the official.

He said that Ahmad was working as a porter with 4 Madras unit of army.

 “A police party from police post Uroosa has been deputed to the spot for further necessary action,” he said.
