An army porter on Saturday slipped to death in Machil area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Shriram Ambarkar the porter slipped from a hill top. “He was associated with army’s 45 RR unit in Machil area,” said the SSP.
After the incident, the porter was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
An official in District Hospital Handwara said the deceased had suffered serious injuries. “The post-mortem report will ascertain the cause of his death,” said the official.
