Army today started a recruitment rally at Haiderbeig, Pattan, which will last up to 16 July 2019.
During the drive, candidates from districts of Bandipora, Kupwada, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam will be put to test.
A total of 5,366 candidates from all parts of the Valley have registered for the event, an army handout said.
The candidates will undergo screening test for physical fitness, medical examination and documentation. Successful candidates will then have to sit in a written test on 28 July and 25 August 2019.
Candidates to be finally selected after undergoing training, will be inducted into various Army services, it said.
“This recruitment rally and similar initiatives across the Valley go a long way in meeting the aspirations of the youths of the hinterland and remote areas, who wish to join the Army, serve the nation and carve out a brighter future for themselves and their families,” the statement said.
The recruitment process is totally computerized and is absolutely transparent, it said, adding that there would be more similar rallies conducted in the near future.
