Around 10 kanal Kahcharai land retrieved at Humhama

Authorities on Sunday retrieved Kahcharai land, measuring 9 kanals and 7 marlas during a massive anti-encroachment drive at Friends Enclave Humhama here.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Mushtaq AhmadSimnani said a joint team of Revenue, Municipality and Police departmentsheaded by Tehsildar Budgam Nusrat Aziz was directed to launch the drive toremove all encroachments on Kahcharai land which can be used for communitypurposes in the area.

   

The ADC said as per action taken report submitted byTehsildar Budgam, when her team went to the spot to remove encroachments andretrieved the grabbed land, one person attempted to sabotage the drive bymisbehaving and trying to manhandle the team members in order to createobstacles.

However, despite stiff resistance from the person, illegalconstruction including concrete walls and tin sheet fencing, constructed on thesaid land was removed by the team and land of 9 kanals and 7 marlas undersurvey No. 1076/2. The said person who attempted to sabotage the drive wasbooked under FIR No 159/2019 for creating obstacles during the drive.

Meanwhile, the ADC also clarified that a news portal hadmisquoted Tehsildar Budgam and has wrongly mentioned an officer’s name in anews item which is a figment of the agency’s imagination.

The ADC said the DDC Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar has givenstrict directions to speed up the drive against the land encroachments. He saidthat the drive will continue in all tehsils of the district and allencroachments on state as well as Kahcharai land will be removed. He also saidstrict action will be taken against the encroachers for indulging in unlawfulactivities.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir RTI Movement   Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat has hailed the actionof the lady officer.

 In a statement hesaid, “A lady Revenue officer who has been posted in Budgam only a few monthsback has been after the land mafia from day one.”

He urged other Tehsildars to also work in the samedirection. ” We appeal Chief Secretary to confer state award for meritoriousservice on Tehsildar Budgam, Nusrat Aziz, as her work is exemplary and demandslots of appreciation from the government so that more and more young officersalso come forward and work in a similar way ,” he added.
