ASI among seven ITBP personnel, driver injured in Srinagar road accident

Seven Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel including an officer and a driver were injured after their vehicle met with an accident at Dignibal in Alestang area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Friday.

Quoting reports, news agency GNS said that the vehicle (Bus bearing registration number JK02w-2677) carrying ITBP personnel skidded off the road and turned turtle at Dignibal today late afternoon. “In the mishap, seven ITBP men of 43 Bn and the driver of the bus sustained injuries”.

   

All the injured were taken to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment, they said.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and identified the injured as Head Constable Chotay Lal, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Rajesh Singh, constable Pawan Singh, constable Doran Singh, constable Mahesh Kumar, constable Shiv Kumar, constable Mukesh Kumar, Farooq Ahmed Rather (Driver) son of  Ghulam Mohd Rather of Habakadal.

The officer said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up.
