Aspirational District Programme: Progress reviewed in Baramulla

District Development Commissioner Dr G N Itoo today reviewed the progress made in different sectors under Transformation of Aspirational Districts programme.

The DDC took a thoroughreview of achievements recorded in the performance indicators viz health andnutrition, education, basic infrastructure, agriculture and water resources,financial inclusion and skill development. He was briefed by the concernedofficers about the implementation of various programmes. Various issues andbottlenecks hampering the development were discussed.

   

TheCMO underlined the need for infrastructural development for better and qualityhealthcare at health centres. He informed that 3 health and wellness centresenvisaged in Ayushman Bharat Scheme have been completed and the work onremaining is at different stages of completion.

The issues pertaining toeducation, rural development, skill development and other sectors were alsodiscussed.

Meanwhile, severaldelegations today called on the DC at his office and appraised him aboutvarious issues of public importance.

Thedelegation comprising representatives of Coordination Committee Sopore, TradersFederation Sopore and Sopore Economic Alliance appraised the DC about variousissues and demands for the socio economic development of the area. Thedelegation demanded feasible site for waste dumping, establishment of pesticidestesting laboratory, shifting of bus adda, provision for CT scan facility at SDHSopore, establishment of public library and other issues of public importance.

Another delegation of Gurduwara Prabandak Committee Baramulla demanded immediate removal of encroachment on footpaths, construction of overhead foot bridge at Degree College Baramulla, restoration of street lights, repairing of Singhpora-Kanispora road etc.
